Dar Al-Funoon and Contemporary Art Platform Kuwait (CAP Kuwait) collaborate to showcase the talent of young painter Hamad Al-Humaidhan. The exhibition will open on December 14th and will continue through December 24th.
Hamad Al Humaidhan, was born on 11 September 1999, in Kuwait. He currently is based in England where his mother is seeking her doctorate degree. Initially, Hamad’s love of art started as a hobby. This soon became an addiction with him visiting museums, art galleries and historic buildings rich in culture to advance to what was becoming his passion. His early exhibitions were held in England; where he has been featured in local and national newspapers following his sell-out exhibitions. In May 2010, Hamad was commissioned to create the Birthday Card in celebration of the 180th Anniversary of Covent Garden market in London. This attracted international media interest of outlets such as the BBC and ITV.
Hamad paints his world with youthful emotions—his characters some real, some legendary and others just imaginary are composed with mastery. His paintings are vivid and full of youthful expressions, which today can be compared to any established artists developing their subjects on society. He represents the Kuwaiti youth in their growing passion for global art and culture.
Lately Hamad Al Humaidhan placed 4th in Top Tenz list of Exceptional Children and Teenagers. Hamad’s third solo exhibition in his homeland of Kuwait will be his biggest to date, with thirty of his most recent works on display.
25% of the proceeds will go to the Kuwait Dream Centre for children with special needs.
Public Programs: Painting Class for Children Ages 12 and under.
Along with the exhibition there will be painting events on the 18, 19 and 20 December whereby young children can join Hamad to paint from 4 to 6pm.
