GulfRun, an annual motorsport event, started in 2005 as a weekend getaway for a group of friends passionate about automobile racing. The goal behind GulfRun was simple; promote automobile racing and training in a safe and secure environment. The purpose was to avoid street racing, reduce car accidents, and educate drivers on proper driving techniques. After heading to the Bahrain International Circuit with over a dozen cars and several eager drivers; and with the help of qualified trainers and professional instructors, the objective was achieved and GulfRun began. The success of the first GulfRun set the course that established it into an annual racing and training event. GulfRun has evolved from a weekend track day into an open public event supported by local sponsors and participants. .
The GulfRun Carshow
In 2009, GulfRun4 inaugurated the first GulfRun car show at Marina Mall as part of the events taking place during GulfRun. The car show was created to bring together participating drivers, car enthusiasts and the general public interested about automobiles in Kuwait. This event was a massive success with a large outpouring of visitors and attendees. With five years of thriving events in Kuwait in Bahrain; the second car show was a large success and showcased over 50 participating race cars at 360 in January 2010. The GulfRun Carshow is now an annual event which occurs two weeks before the GulfRun track event in Bahrain.
Social Responsibility
As part of the GulfRun5 Carshow in 2010, GulfRun raffled off two motorcycles to raise money for Charity as part of its dedication to social responsibilities. After raising 9,460 KWD for Hayat Cancer foundation during the first event, the charitable raffle is now a integral part of the annual GulfRun Carshow.
