Join Dr. Teresa Lesher for a glimpse into the life of Prophet Muhammad and how he dealt with others, including Jews and Christians, women and children, friends and foes, believers and non-believers. All are welcome. During the golden era of Islam, Muslims co-existed with non-Muslims in peace and harmony. Dr. Teresa’s presentation will focus on the following perspective: theological, legal, Societal, Financial dealings, Non-Muslims’ positions in government, among others. Teresa holds her PhD in Information Science from the UK and is now associate professor at the Kuwait College of Basic Education. She held the position of General Manager of the AWARE Center for three years and returns often to host presentations related to Arab and Islamic culture. All are welcome! Hajj is an international pilgrimage to Mecca that attracts up to three million Muslims annually. Dr. Teresa Lesher will discuss its historical significance, describe the major rites that comprise the pilgrimage, and share some of the sentiments that Muslims experience in this trip of a lifetime. Her 30-minute PowerPoint presentation will be followed by National Geographic's 45-minute documentary entitled, "Inside Mecca" which presents an intimate look at the annual pilgrimage by following three pilgrims from very different backgrounds as they embark on a spiritual journey that is both deeply personal and widely universal. This special event begins at 7 pm. on Thursday, November 3. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome. This is a 1 ½ tour of one of Kuwait’s most famous landmarks. The Grand Mosque is an important landmark of Kuwait. This tour begins with all interested individuals meeting at the Grand Mosque. at 9:15 am. Tour starts at 9:30am. Dress code conservative, cameras allowed. Please note, women are kindly requested to wear long and loose fitting clothing and may take a scarf for covering their hair or otherwise will be provided one by the grand mosque.

Time: 9:30 am Kuwait Town Malayalee Christian Congregation’s (KTMCC) Annual convention will be held at the National Evangelical Church (NECK). Rev Dr T. Koshy Vaidyan (USA), a renowned orator will be the main speaker. KTMCC is the first Indian Christian congregation established in Kuwait 59 years back consisting of believers from Mar Thoma Church, CSI Church, Indian Evangelical Church, Pentecostal Churches and Brethern Assembly. Currently around 30 congregations under KTMCC’s umbrella are worshipping at NECK. KTMCC’s choir with participation of all the churches will be leading the singing session of the convention. KTMCC Secretary, Roy K. Yohannan and President K.P. Koshy informed that the arrangements for the convention are in progress. Various committees are working for the success of convention. Take a journey through the life of a Muslim with Dr. Teresa Lesher, who will discuss the Islamic perspective and traditions related to infancy, childhood, puberty, marriage, parenthood, old age and death. Their Iftar tent will be open during this period to host fasters for prayers and meditation and Quran recitation. NBK's Public Relations Officer Talal Al-Turki said that NBK's Iftar tent, which comes as a part of the bank's social program that features a multitude of philanthropic activities, will also host fasters and NBK will continue providing Iftar Banquets at the tent while also distributing Iftar meals via special convoys to the crowded areas in Kuwait. Al-Turki indicated that NBK has already taken the necessary preparations to receive those wishing to pray during the last 10 nights of Ramadan and NBK staff volunteers are all set to host and attend prayers at Al-Watani Iftar tents. "By 'Doing Good Deeds' NBK hopes to encourage a greater sense of community and charity during Ramadan and encourages its customers and staff to participate by 'doing good deeds' all month long", Al-Turki concluded.
