K-Cats Kuwait Cat Club, the first cat club in Kuwait to be officially registered with the CFA & WCF, will be hosting their first Cat Show in 2012. They are currently looking for sponsors as well as media contacts to cover their debut cat show, and interested individuals/organizations should read the poster below for more information. K-Cats was founded December 2010, and they are considered a "non profit club." Their upcoming show sounds like loads of fun! Can't wait! :) When: January 21st Where: Safir International Hotel For more info: [email protected] or [email protected] Tickets: 20 KD
For more info or to reserve: [email protected] We have also learned via their newsletter of a horrific Flamingo slaughter which occured just recently here in Kuwait. Apparently, poachers broke into the Abdaliya Nature Preserve to massacre several flamingos, with only two barely holding on to sacred life. On November 17th, K's PATH received a frantic phone call from Kuwait Oil Company employees horrified to find dead and dying flamingos in the Abdaliya Nature Preserve in West Kuwait. K'S PATH was able to respond quickly and rescue the two live birds and document the deaths of 11 more. After receiving prompt medical care from Royal Animal Hospital, they were placed in a temporary holding cage over night. By the next morning the K's PATH staff were hard at work to modify an existing bird flight for use by flamingos. They don't normally publish gruesome photos on their Facebook page, but in this case they feel it is important that our community see what poaching is doing to our wildlife. With knowledge will come the ability to make change. You may read more about it HERE & then view the photo album HERE.
