In 2006, after nine years of successful organization of the Kuwait Jazz Festival - Witold Wnuk, director of Cracovia Music Bureau and founder of the festival decided to develop this festival in other countries in the Arabian Gulf region. The 1st Gulf Jazz Festival was held at the Radisson SAS Hotels in Kuwait and Bahrain. In years 1997-2005 many great jazz artists took part at the Kuwait Jazz Festival. In 2007 the event extended its range to Dubai presenting concerts at Radisson SAS Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek with the participation of many world jazz stars. Generally we notice that jazz music has a good reception from Arabic audience because jazz and Arabic music (specially from Arabian Gulf region) have some common elements with jazz as improvisation or enthusiasm - the number of audience attending the jazz festival is growing every year.
